**I have notified Kristen via email and if I do not hear back within 48 hrs I will select another winner. Thank you!

I was given the opportunity by Mom Select to try the Temple Touch Thermometer and having 2 kids that are anti-ear thermometers I was excited to give it a try.

During our week long flu battle 2 weeks ago we really gave this thermometer a run for its money and I was impressed with the quick and accurate temperature readings.

It is really easy to use. You simply follow these 3 quick steps.

The thermometer works in 3 easy and quick steps.

1) Press and release the power button to activate it. The display and light come on and you will hear 1 beep to indicate the unit is powered on.

2) Wait for 2 short beeps that indicate the thermometer is ready for use.

3) Place the sensor on the temple or under the arm. Listen for one long beep to indicate the temperature reading is ready.

Features:

* Measurement locations – temple and underarm
* Instant measurement, 6 – 8 seconds
* Room Temperature display.
* Large and easy to read back-lighted LCD
* ODPT® – Over Dose Protective Timer.
* Recalls last reading recorded
* Celsius/Fahrenheit scale readouts
* Simple to operate, no scanning required
* Family friendly, safe and gentle enough for newborns
* Meets ASTM Accuracy requirements

This is currently available for sale at Walgreens for $29.99. A great way to save money on this is to use Regoster Rewards to pay for it! You can get more detailed instructions on this thermometer here. I do recommend testing this out before you need to use it for a real fever. I had a fever myself when I first tried to use it and did not read the directions to know to wait for the 2 beeps and I got a little frustrated. Once I read the quick instructions I was able to get it to work fine but I could have saved myself some frustration.

Mom Select has given me a thermometer to give away too!

I look for something that’s quick and easy. No one wants to have to worry about using one of those old mercury thermometers when the kids are sick.

I look for an accurate and quick thermometer. I have 3 very squirmy kids.

I just had a child with a 105+ temp a few weeks ago. After giving him ibuprofin, I put him in a cool bath. That works really well to bring down a high temp.

I look for accuracy and ease of use. Thermometers are a must have with small kids esp this time of the year.

Tip: To assist with bringing a fever down. Place a cold wash cloth on childs forehead along with a fever reducing medicine of your choice.

I used this method just recently and it worked well.

I definitely always want a digital reading on my thermometers as trying to get a n accurate read on a mercury thermometer is awful!

angie October 30, 2009 at 9:33 am

Anytime I have a fever, I take Tylenol. That always brings it down.

scott October 30, 2009 at 9:33 am

I always look for the highest technology factor in my thermometer purchases. The more bells and whistles the better.

scott October 30, 2009 at 9:34 am

More than once I have had to be placed in a bathtub full of ice water to get my fever under control. It works but its horrible to go thru.

Gaby October 30, 2009 at 10:04 am
