First, THANK YOU if you have taken the time to complete my quick Demographic Survey! It has been so amazing to see all of the different locations everyone lives in and the what you want to see question has had great information for me. If you have not had a chance, please complete the survey. It will help me help you!
One of the requests in that section of the survey was for more basic start up information for people who are new to couponing and deal shopping and more specifically where should someone start. Both of those requests are fabulous and I will start with an answer to where I think it is important to begin your coupon journey.
Saving The Most On Groceries – Knowing Your Top 50 is an article I wrote for Blissfully Domestic last month and it is where I think everyone starting out should begin their quest to save the big bucks at the grocery store. What I stress most when teaching a coupon class is that smart shopping does NOT begin with saving the most money using coupons to buy things you don’t want/need/use — that is just wasting time, space in your home and money – it is learning to save the most money possible on what you and your family want/need/use. This makes the effort you have to put out to save that money worth it!
I plan to do a weekly post on starting your road to savings and I appreciate the reminder that couponing can be overwhelming and not everyone speaks the jargon. My next post will break down the coupon speak, take another look at where you can get coupons you will use, and explain why the time and effort is worth the investment!
If you have a specific question, comment, or anything at all — please leave them in the comments!
